ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT
Orthodontic treatment is a way of straightening or moving teeth to improve the appearance of the teeth and how they work. It also helps maintain long-term dental health by evenly spreading bite pressure across all teeth. Many people struggle with crowded or crooked teeth, and orthodontics helps move them into a better position, making them easier to clean and more aesthetically pleasing.
When teeth don't meet correctly, it can strain jaw muscles, causing jaw problems or headaches. Orthodontic treatment helps improve your bite, reducing strain. Our in-house orthodontist takes care of all malalignments and occlusion-related issues.
While childhood is generally the best stage for orthodontics, adults can also undergo treatment—and many do today.
The treatment process includes a detailed examination involving teeth evaluation, X-rays, and plaster models. Our orthodontist (Dr. Bhumika Peter) will guide you through the treatment possibilities. Once you're ready, treatment begins as soon as enough permanent teeth are present.
Orthodontic appliances (commonly called braces) come in two main forms. Removable braces are plates that can be taken out for cleaning and use gentle pressure to move teeth. Fixed braces use brackets and wires attached to teeth, providing more accurate control. Fixed appliances cannot be removed by the patient.
Treatment duration varies from a few months to two-and-a-half years, depending on the case. Most treatments last between one and two years. After completion, retainers help maintain the new tooth position during the retention phase.
